About Us

Michael's Mediterranean can be found in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold town of Chipping Campden, just a moment away from the historic Wool Market building.

Chef & Restaurateur Michael Alexiou bought Woolmarket House in 1986 and transformed it into the charming and unique restaurant it is today. The building dates from circa 1720 and features two magnificent inglenook fireplaces. 

Dine in relaxed surroundings with the warm ambience of open fires in the winter, or on our pretty terrace in the summer. We offer traditional Greek cuisine, complemented by modern, Mediterranean dishes.  From an array of Mezze dishes, fresh fish, seafood and seasonal daily specials, to our renowned “Marathona” fillet steaks; all our ingredients are locally-sourced where possible.

Our restaurant can accommodate 28 guests for private parties and we have devised a series of celebratory menus to choose from, or why not let us create a bespoke menu, tailored to your tastes?  

To ensure your guests have a truly unique night, you can even have exclusive hire of the restaurant and stay overnight at our luxury bed and breakfast housed within the same building, Woolmarket House.

 Full of period charm, each of the six rooms feature designer fabrics, treasured-antiques, large comfy beds, contemporary en-suite bathrooms and gorgeous-scented eco-friendly products to pamper yourself with.  

Breakfast is always a generous affair either taken in your room or shared with guests in our breakfast room.  For evening dining guests can enjoy supper from Michael's Restaurant in their room or in our private dining area.  

We are a short step from the historic High Street with its lovely eclectic array of original shops, coffee houses and restaurants offering log fires and lazy lunches.
